A suspected thief who sneaked into the Foursquare Gospel Church, in the Magboro area of Ogun State and stole a motorcycle belonging to one of the worshippers, has been caught after he stunned the congregation at the service on Sunday. It was gathered that if not for the alertness of security guards on the church premises, the suspect would have escaped with the motorcycle. The guards were said to have mobilised some other motorcycle riders in the church, who gave the suspect a chase and arrested him as he was about riding onto the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The robbery suspect, who identified himself as Raymon and later Ramoni, upon his arrest, said he took to robbery because he was hungry. Residents at Nkwanta in the Volta Region are in a state of shock after three children were burnt beyond recognition when fire razed their home, Wednesday. The fire which started this morning is suspected to have been fuelled by gallons of pre-mix fuel stored in the house. No fewer than four persons, on Thursday, died in a fatal auto crash in Bauchi state. The accident occurred at about 2:30 pm at Narabi village, along Bauchi-Jos Federal Highway. Nigeria has approximately 10 million out of school children, according to the United Nations Emergency Fund (UNICEF). Mohammed Mohiuddin, UNICEF’s chief of Sokoto field office, disclosed this recently. “Nigeria has approximately more than 10 million out-of-school children (OOSC),” he said. This is proportionally the highest number of out-of-school children in the world, with 60 per cent of them located in northern Nigeria.” The organisation said it had contributed more than $71.5 million for the education of out-of-school children in four northern states. Muhiuddin spoke at the closing of a two-day planning meeting of a project christened: ‘More out of school children in Nigeria’. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, says plans have been concluded to sign visa-free pacts with a bloc of eight African countries to promote economic partnership on the continent. In a bid to commit suicide, a 20-year-old man stripped himself n*ked and entered a lion enclosure in a Chilean zoo, but survived the incident, as the lions were killed. According to the zoo's authorities in Santiago, the two African lions were shot dead as they severely mauled the man who had broken into their cage early on Saturday.   The man, who has been named by local media as Franco Luis Ferrada Roman, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was said to be in grave condition.
