Real Madrid star Gareth Bale spent £400,000 for the private rental of Tagomago Island, which is located just next to Ibiza, just to propose to long term girlfriend, Emma Rrhys-Jones. The cost of the island rental wasn’t just for him and his fiancee, though: Bale also put up a group of friends, as it was his 27th birthday, so it was a particularly special weekend for the Real Madrid man. Messi, Ronaldo in new rivalry over world’s most expensive car

Real Madrid’s bionic super athlete, Cristiano Ronaldo and the Natural, Lionel Messi have taken their rivalry off the football pitch to the auto world. According to Bleacher Report, Messi might have outbid Ronaldo at a recent auction for the world’s most expensive car. The Russian side have rejected a $21.6m offer as they hold out for a fee closer to their $27m offer as they hold out for a fee closer to their $27m valuation of the forward. The 23-year-old is believed to be open to a move to Leicester.

  Nigeria has lost a referee in the line of duty with details concerning the cause of his death currently unknown.   Popular Nigerian referee, Basit Olayiwola Giwa slumped and subsequently passed away during a fitness test organized for local referees in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.   Frantic efforts were made by his colleagues to resuscitate the young man but they were all to no avail. The major cause of his untimely demise is currently unknown as autopsy reports are being awaited.   The news was broken on Twitter by popular Nigerian Sports Pundit, Colin Udoh.

Former Super Eagles Footballer, Kanu Nwankwo in Massive Debts, Bank Accounts to be Frozen

In a bid to recover a debt of N924,788,754.56, a Federal high court sitting in Lagos has ordered that all accounts belonging to former captain of the Super Eagles, Nwankwo Kanu and his company, The Hardley Apartments anywhere and in any bank or financial institution in Nigeria should be frozen pending the hearing of suit file against them, according to P.M news. Also affected by the order of the court is a Director of Hardley Apartment, Ayoola Gam-Ikon. The order of the court was as a result of a debt recovery suit filed by Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) against the defendants. In an affidavit sworn to by a Credit officer in the Directorate of AMCON Mr Victor Igabor, filed and argued by Barrister Niyi Olopade, the deponent averred that sometime between May, 2008 and January 10, 2011 Skye bank offered The Hardley Apartments engaged in business of Hospitality located at Plot 46 Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria island, Lagos a loan of N520

Mikel rejected Oliseh's offer of Super Eagles Vice Captaincy

It has been revealed that Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel turned down the opportunity to be vice -captain of the Super Eagles before the vacant position was handed to Eddy Onazi and Kenneth Omeruo.
