I don’t know if Buhari is the messiah – Rev. Abidoye

The Chairman and Spiritual Father of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Rev. Samuel Abidoye, has said he does not know if the President-elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari, is the messiah Nigeria needs.

He, however, said he was certain that Buhari and his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, were credible and committed people, who would make positive impacts on the governance of the country and the lives of the people.

He spoke in an interview with journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday during the 46th Mount Horeb Ascension of the church along Ilorin-Ibadan Expressway.

He noted that Buhari, given his antecedent of introducing the War Against Indiscipline when he was the Head of State, would bring about the necessary attitudinal change in Nigerians.

He also said Osinbajo, being a pastor and a man of integrity, would add value to good and purposeful governance.
The cleric also commended the outgoing President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, for conceding defeat after the presidential election and paving the way for peace, national stability and violence-free election and transition.

Abidoye said, “Is he the messiah we are looking for? I do not know if Buhari is the messiah we are looking. When I compare the two together, the President-elect is a man of discipline and the pastor beside him, I can say that corruption is gone, put it that way. You cannot stop corruption entirely.

“I want to congratulate Nigerians again on having them. I thank God, a change of government has come. It was our prayer. All Nigerians prayed with one voice. May God help them do what they are expected to do.”

The C&S Spiritual head also said Buhari’s incoming government would inherit a lot of challenges.

He noted that the nation was bedeviled by corruption and lack of infrastructure and good amenities.

He urged all Nigerians to pray for the incoming administration so that the nation’s challenges would be substantially addressed.

Abidoye said, “There are so many things he should do. We lack electricity and good roads. We have nothing at all presently. I call it woes of Nigeria. There are many problems around. Except we have somebody like Messiah to help us, the problems are so many. Anyway you look at it, no railway, electricity, no good road, look at the level of corruption.” NG-[A_BA[MOBI_TECN_ALLB]:TECNO_PHANTOM_Z
