LAGOS BANKER BENJAMIN SEGUN BRIGHT TO SPEND 63 YEARS IN JAIL FOR STEALING N4.9M

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured a 63-years jail time for a fraudster, Benjamin Segun Bright, for stealing the sum of N4,994,000 from investors whom he had deceived into believing he would invest such monies in his purported companies, only to pocket the money. Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, passed the huge sentence on Bright, without option of fine. The EFCC said the convict was arraigned on July 10, 2012, on a 21-count charge of stealing and obtaining by tricks. Justice Ipaye found Bright guilty of all the 21 charges preferred against him and sentenced him to three years imprisonment on each count.
