Pandemonium in Local Community as Woman Allegedly Gives Birth to Snake (Photos)

According to an unconfirmed report which was exclusively reported by Bombo News, a 37-year-old married woman from Koronadal city, South Cotabato, Phillipines, gave birth to a 2-foot long snake on Tuesday, February 16th. The report on the Facebook page of Bombo Radyo Koronadal, states that the woman whose name was withheld for privacy reasons, had all the necessary morning sickness, loss of appetite and other symptoms experienced by pregnant women before her shocking delivery. It was gathered that her husband had not been with her for months which gave way for numerous speculations. When she went for pregnancy test, it came out positive but the ultrasound scan showed the image of a long-shaped object instead of a normal fetus. She was reportedly taken to faith healers but only one out of the 7 faith healers knew what was wrong with her. Car-bomb kills ex-defence minister

Somalia’s former defence minister was killed in a car bomb on Monday, the latest in a string of attacks in the capital Mogadishu, police said. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion in the central K4 district of the city, but Al-Qaeda-linked Shebab insurgents have carried out similar bombings in the past. Muhidin Mohamed, who was defence minister in 2008, “died after the violent elements attached an explosive device beneath the driver’s seat of his car,” said police officer Ibrahim Mohamed. “Another person was wounded in the attack.” The Shebab is fighting to overthrow the internationally-backed government in Mogadishu, which is protected by 22,000 African Union troops. “I heard the explosion near the K4 area and I saw a dead body – he was horribly wounded with blood all over his body,” said Samiro Muktar, a witness. Tragedy: Police boss drown during party

An Assistant Commissioner of Police, who was also in charge of the Area K, Morogbo, of the Lagos State Police Command, Osung Ekpo, has drowned in a hotel on Valentine’s Day in the Ajah area of the state. It was learnt that Ekpo died at about 5pm on Sunday while swimming in the hotel’s swimming pool. It was gathered that Ekpo was in company with friends on Sunday and had decided to relax in the swimming pool before he drowned. He was said to have been rescued from the pool by policemen and hotel workers, who rushed him to a nearby hospital. But he reportedly died a few minutes after, and was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty. According to witnesses, Ekpo’s corpse has been moved to a morgue while investigations to confirm the cause of his death were ongoing. The Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, confirmed the death, adding that investigations are ongoing.

Why I stole pant, soap from shopping mall’

A 28-year-old man Sunday Oboh on Monday told a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Igbosere that he stole a pair of briefs and several bars of medicated soap from a shopping mall in Lekki to take care of his wife and their newborn son. Oboh, from Delta State, was employed as a contract security guard and posted to a high end shopping mall, SPAR, in Lekki. He was making his way out of the store’s premises at about 9:18pm on February 10, when he was discovered to be in possession of several bars of soap. He couldn’t give a reasonable explanation for the items to the other guards on duty and, when a body search was carried out, it was found that the very pant Oboh was putting on that night was also stolen from the store. Oboh was handed over to the police who arraigned him on Monday before Magistrate O. H. Olagbade (Miss) on a one count charge of stealing. Residents of Mayaki Street in Oworonshoki, Lagos were gripped by fear after suspected cultists went on rampage. The hoodlums who left several persons injured, vandalised several shops and vehicles also looted wares and money belonging to private citizens. It was gathered that the palace of the Oworonshoki monarch was pelted with stones and bottles, while its occupants were threatened with guns. Trouble was said to have started at about 8pm on Sunday, after a young man identified as Monsuru, 25, was killed by a rival cult group around Atanda Alonge Street. Meanwhile, five persons, including two suspected to have murdered Monsuru have been arrested and currently being interrogated by police operatives. It was learnt that the deceased was murdered during a Valentine’s Day party held in the neighbourhood. Kano records 3 confirmed cases of Lassa fever

Dr Kabir Getso, Kano State Commissioner for Health, said on Monday in Kano that the state had recorded three confirmed cases of Lassa fever since the outbreak in December, 2015. Getso who spoke while addressing newsmen, said two of the confirmed cases were recorded in Garun-Malam Local Government Area of the state. The commissioner said that the patients died at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) on Dec. 2, 2015. He said that the third confirmed case, a young businessman from Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area, came to Kano from Benue last week. The commissioner said that all the contacts were identified and followed up. According to him, more than 70 per cent of them have either completed their 21 days follow up or tested negative. He, however, said that another two suspected cases were currently on admission at the designated isolation and treatment centre at Yar’gaya Hospital.
